The artist

Ghis Martel The passion to touch hearts and minds through art.

Ghis Martel is a painter whose work is rooted in a deep and evolving relationship with creation.

Active for several years, he has presented his work to art enthusiasts and collectors, developing a pictorial language grounded in the exploration of material and gesture.

After a period away from the art scene, he now returns to painting with a renewed approach—more آزاد and focused on the essential aspects of the creative process.

This return marks an important stage in his journey, where experience gained over time meets a rediscovered spontaneity.

As far back as he can remember, Ghis Martel has always been drawn to both art and music. Raised in a family of musicians and immersed early in drawing, he quickly realized he would pursue an artistic path.

His early works already revealed a strong sense of proportion and color composition. Alongside his studies in contemporary music and visual arts, he developed a sustained interest in abstract painting and drawing.

Although largely self-taught in this approach, his research and study of major artists—such as Kandinsky, Klee, Miró, and Pollock, as well as Monet, Turner, Van Gogh, Dalí, Picasso, and Braque—have shaped his artistic sensibility.

According to various interpretations, these influences can be seen in a body of work characterized by a vibrant palette, expressive gestural marks, and a constant search for balance between structured graphic elements and more diffuse, emotional backgrounds. Variations emerge across compositions and color schemes, while maintaining a recognizable energy and sense of movement.

Today, Ghis Martel continues his work through an ongoing exploration of the balance between intuition and structure, developing a body of work in which color, rhythm, and material become the vehicles of a distinctive personal expression.

“Art is not only a form of expression; it is also a way of being.
Artistic practice becomes a form of contemplation of the present moment, allowing one to reconnect with oneself and to recharge.
It is, in a way, the creation of a parallel universe where one seeks to resonate with the external world, in harmony with one’s inner vibration.”
